The whole purpose of online marketing is to promote a company, its products, services or a specific message to potential customers using the internet. For example, when a user uses Google, social media or anything else on the computer, the user can be exposed to marketing.<\/p>\n<p>The opposite of online marketing is offline marketing. As it is written in the words, the online part is internet marketing (i.e. online) while offline marketing is anything but web marketing. Examples include events, bus advertisements and flyers, radio just to name a few possibilities.<\/p>\n<p>Today, almost no company can avoid promoting itself online, as there are many advantages to choosing an online channel. For example, with many forms of offline marketing, it can be difficult to follow up on what value the marketing campaign actually provided versus what was paid for it. For example, if you bought an ad in a printed newspaper or a physical magazine, it can be difficult to directly measure how many purchases, how much interest etc. came out of it.<\/p>\n<p>For your understanding, we will list different types of online marketing below:<\/p>\n<h2>SEO and online marketing<\/h2>\n<p>SEO stands for search engine optimization and is about <a href=\"\/en\/viden\/whats-is-seo\/\">Search engine optimize your website<\/a>so that your website will be one of the top pages on Google, for example, when people search for a product you have online.<\/p>\n<p>A very good example of the importance of SEO is that if you work with SEO in the right way, it's equivalent to having one of the best physical locations on Str\u00f8get - you know, the areas where there is a lot of traffic and thus more visitors and customers in the stores. Conversely, it could also be said that if you don't work with SEO, it's the equivalent of having your business located in a backyard where it's more or less random which visitors and number of purchases go through in a day.<\/p>\n<p>It is possible to work with SEO yourself, for example by taking an online marketing course. However, there is a big difference between mastering SEO and achieving mediocre results, and since this form of marketing is almost a world unto itself, where there are many technical issues that are constantly innovating, many companies use a <a href=\"\/en\/office\/this-office\/\">digital SEO agency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2>Social media and online marketing<\/h2>\n<p>Examples of social media include Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and Twitter, which are probably some of the most popular. Here, many people spend countless hours every month socializing with others online.<\/p>\n<p>This makes these media a perfect place to advertise your messages. There are different ways to do this, and the prices of <a href=\"\/en\/viden\/-28\/\">announcement<\/a> are also available in several different tiers. For example, prices for advertising on Facebook are lower than prices for advertising on LinkedIn.<\/p>\n<h2>Google ads and online marketing<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"\/en\/specialties\/google-ads\/\">Google Ads<\/a> is a third form of online marketing. Much like SEO, it's about being visible in Google search results. The difference is that Google Ads are paid ads that appear at the top. Some SEO agencies also help companies like Google Ads, as there are advantages in combining the two activities under one roof.<\/p>\n<p>There are many more forms of online marketing.
