What does SEO consist of?

SEO consists of four areas: technology, content, links and user signals. In other words, SEO is a multifaceted process and your chance of achieving good search engine rankings depends on holistic efforts in all four areas.

What is your work process like?

We have an individual and differentiated approach to all clients, but we have some fixed processes that most collaborations are based on.

1. SEO Business Case
Prior to the collaboration, we prepare an SEO Business Case. With the Business Case, you get a calculation of your economic growth potential and profitability through a targeted SEO strategy, a mapping of your market position on Google compared to your closest competitors and a review of the areas of action you need to prioritise.

The Business Case answers how profitable your current SEO efforts are and to what extent SEO is a profitable investment. At the same time, it provides a basis for setting clear and realistic goals for the work, so you can better align expectations on budget, metrics and results, both online and with an SEO agency. 2. Kick-off meeting
The cooperation starts with a meeting where we jointly define a strategy, an action plan and concrete objectives towards which we can steer our efforts. We make sure the goals are realistic and achievable, and we regularly evaluate the SEO process to ensure we maintain momentum and direction.

The kick-off meeting is based on the business case, any initial analyses and the formal framework of the collaboration, and forms the basis for our further work. To ensure a constructive and fruitful collaboration and a good ongoing dialogue, a steering group is established with representatives from both parties.

3. Analyze
The prerequisite for successful SEO work is that it is based on a solid knowledge of your target audience, website, competitors and market position. A good SEO strategy therefore includes a number of knowledge-building analyses.

We prepare four analyses as needed:

  • Keyword analysis. Mapping of business relevant keywords and your market position on these words. The analysis results in a prioritised list of keywords where increased visibility of your website can yield the greatest return.
  • Technical analysis. Identifying technical and content errors on your website that negatively impact your visibility on Google, and untapped opportunities to improve your visibility.
  • Link analysis. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of your link profile and mapping websites that link to your competitors but not to you. The analysis provides knowledge on how to increase your visibility and awareness through link building.
  • Conversion analysis. Identifying errors and inefficiencies on your website that negatively impact your visitors' behaviour and willingness to buy, and untapped opportunities to improve their behaviour.

4. Quick-wins
If, during the initial phase of the collaboration, we discover errors and inadequacies on your website that can be easily remedied, we will immediately suggest concrete solutions. Quick-wins can address issues such as indexing, load time, redirects and duplicate content.

Any quick wins don't change the fact that SEO is a long-term process and that it can take up to several months before you see the first results of the work - regardless of which SEO agency you work with. In our experience, the profitability of SEO is highest when the collaboration lasts for a minimum of 12 months.

5. Execution
We are implementing the strategy through a series of actions in the following four areas. We will not necessarily prioritise all areas equally, but will make a concrete assessment of which weighting of the areas is most profitable for you.

  • Technical SEO. We guide you in addressing technical errors and inefficiencies on your website that negatively impact your visibility on Google, and untapped opportunities that can improve your visibility - based on the technical analysis. Read more about technical SEO.
  • Content optimization. We search engine optimise the textual content of your website. The optimisation is based on keyword analysis, with the aim of giving you greater visibility and more traffic on the business-relevant keywords we have identified as the most profitable.   • Link building. We build links to your website. Links are the most important factor in determining how visible your website is on the business-relevant keywords we have identified as the most profitable.   • Optimisation of user signals. We help you optimise visitor behaviour on your website, both to ensure that visitors behave in the most valuable way and because certain types of behaviour affect how visible your website is on Google. Read more about user signals.

6. Advice and training
An integral part of our cooperation is advice and professional sparring. We believe in knowledge sharing because it allows you to manage your internal SEO activities and because the results are better if you are an active partner in the collaboration.

We'll have a regular dialogue about the extent to which you want to improve your skills in the areas we work on. If necessary, we can organise courses to provide you with knowledge and concrete strategies, methods and tools that you can use in your daily work.

7. Reporting
We send monthly reports documenting our work and our results. The reports may include, for example, documentation of our deliverables, your positions on Google, your visitor numbers and the number of sales.

The content of the reports may vary according to the targets we have set. The reports are based on data from analytics tools such as Google Analytics and SEMrush. In addition to the reports, weekly statistics on your positions on Google are sent.

8. Evaluation
We hold quarterly evaluation meetings, where we evaluate the progress and results of the cooperation together. The evaluation meetings are based on the reports we have sent you on an ongoing basis, documenting our work and our results.

On the basis of the evaluation, we organise and adjust our future activities to ensure that we achieve the objectives we have set together. We do not reduce our workload if we are close to achieving our objectives or if we reach our objectives ahead of schedule.

How long does a typical collaboration last?

Search engine optimisation (SEO) is an ongoing and long-term process, which is why we work together over a longer period of time. In our experience, the profitability of SEO is greatest when the work is carried out over a period of at least 12 months. Most of our clients work with us for several years.

How involved in the work should I be?

We believe in knowledge sharing because the benefits of working with us are greater if you are an active and critical partner. That's why we like to learn from each other. But you decide how much you want to get involved in our work.
